Norma Barfield

 

 

Norma Barfield is the Director of Development for the College Success Foundation – District of Columbia. Ms. Barfield joined CSF-DC as interim Director in November 2016 and joined CSF-DC officially in January 2017. She has 30 years of experience in fundraising for educational and cultural non-profits either on the Board of Trustees or as the Director of Development for non-profits in Washington, DC and Michigan. Ms. Barfield has a long-standing commitment to providing educational opportunities for underserved students. She served as Vice Chairman of the UNCF Campaign in Southeastern Michigan, contributing to a significant increase in funds raised during her tenure. Ms. Barfield served on the Board of Directors of the Ron Brown Scholar Program where she initiated and led the development campaign that raised the funds to establish an endowed chair at an Ivy League institution. Ms. Barfield also served as the Director of Development for two charter school systems in the District of Columbia. In addition, she practiced corporate law for twenty-five years and served as the General Counsel for a national staffing firm for 14 years. Ms. Barfield earned a BA from Harvard University and a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center.
