TO ORDER: Funding the Future can be purchased online through Amazon Visualize 60,000 seniors graduating from high school in their colorful robes. But 28,000 never go to college. Of those who do, only half earn their baccalaureate degree in six years. What this means is that 44,000 young adults enter the 21st century workforce with no college degree and very little post-secondary education - year after year after year. This is a tragic waste. Especially when you realize that at least 6,000 of those students that didn't go to college or didn't finish their degree could have been successful in a baccalaureate program, but didn't attend or finish simply because they didn't have the money. The College Success Foundation was founded in 2000 to provide college scholarships and mentoring to low-income, high potential students. Today thanks to hundreds of generous benefactors, 3,100 of these students are in school working to earn their bachelor's degrees and begin their adult lives with the solid grounding of a quality education. **** Funding the Future is a guide for those interested in investing in scholarships for low-income, high potential students who may not otherwise have the opportunity for higher education. Bob Craves, author and College Success Foundation co-founder and CEO, shares his experiences, advice, and resources to help organizations and states put together their scholarship-development efforts through the National Education Foundation.
